ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Very little seems to be known about Friedrich Demnitz - only that he was principal clarinettist of the court orchestra in Dresden and that he taught at the conservatoire there. Assuming that the "Elementary School" was published during his lifetime, it has lasted for at least 125 years and that is surely testament to its value as a source of study material. Both ABRSM and Trinity seem to agree as his studies appear in the current syllabi for 5 of their 8 clarinet grade exams.
