CITY PEOPLE

With the composer conducting, the BBC broadcast John Blood's First Symphony while he was still at school, and, after four years of study at the Royal Academy of Music he was awarded the Eric Coates prize for composition.

He was involved with the British Music Society at its inception which generated the composition and performance of much of his music for their early concert series. His catalogue of over thirty works includes music for voices, keyboard, woodwind, brass, strings, orchestra and wind band. John Blood has worked as an editor for the music publishers Novello & Co. Ltd for many years and lives in the East End of London which might have been the inspiration for 'City People'.
