"My many excellent trombone player friends had often asked me to write something for trombone trio, a combination easy to assemble. I finally took their request to heart and decided to compose some diverse pieces offering various technical and musical challenges.
This is how these 18 Moods were born, as a mixed suite with a touch of humour, and with each movement being different in character, duration and difficulty. A mix to accommodate everyone’s taste!
With its rich variety of musical styles, this suite is not only valuable and stimulating in terms of pedagogical goals, but it also offers the possibility of creating smaller suites (with 3 or 4 pieces) for inclusion in concert programs."- Corrado Maria Saglietti
