30 NEW STUDIES for Solo Saxophone

The British composer, pedagogue and internationally experienced musician James Rae has long proven how to combine pedagogical material with the necessary ‘fun factor’. His 30 New Studies for Solo Saxophone complement the already very successful volumes 20 Modern Studies (UE 18820) and 36 More Modern Studies (UE 21613) - but not as a continuation at an advanced level of difficulty, but rather as preparation at a very easy to intermediate playing level.

Progressive in their demands, they cover a wide range of different styles from rock, swing, jazz, Latin and funk to modern classical music. They are much more than mere practice pieces but are suitable for the concert stage as well as for examinations or competitions.

Diverse rhythms, varied articulations and typical phrasing prepare you for the demands of contemporary and modern saxophone playing. In a manageable length, each number focusses on a specific theme, which the pictorial English titles - often humorous - already hint at.

Motivated and focussed, you can set to work in this collection with every member of the saxophone family, from soprano to baritone saxophone.
