A Practical Approach to the Clarinet for Advanced Clarinettists includes multiple ways to approach the essential elements of clarinet playing. This volume addresses more than ten separate aspects of technique and musicianship, and provides a minimum of three different methods to help understand each concept. Accompanying pictures, skill games, and exercises make it easy for students to explore these areas, and provide teachers with pedagogical ideas for effective instruction of difficult topics. Many of the concepts and exercises are attributable to highly successful orchestral players, soloists and pedagogues. This new revised edition also includes many complete etudes where the introduced concepts may be reinforced.

The Revised Edition includes:
* Additional explanations for existing chapters
* An added chapter titled "Understanding Rhythmic Subdivision"
* Over 30 complete etudes from Rose 32 and 40 Etudes, Rose Caprices, Cavallini 30 Caprices and Stark Twenty Four Etudes in All Tonalities. This includes all the etudes used for the TMEA tryouts
* A short excerpt from each etude in question that showcases the concepts to be learned before playing the entire etude

This book will help advanced clarinettists improve the following:
•Breathing and Posture
•Breath Control and Breath Support
•Voicing the Tone
•Articulation
•Left Hand Position and Register Change
•Correct Right Hand Position and Strength and Coordination of the Little Fingers
•Resonated Throat Tones
•Understanding Rhythmic Subdivision (and its many uses)
•Altissimo Notes (including many alternate fingerings)
•Connection in Upward and Downward Skips
•Legato Finger Motion (for smoother melodic lines)
•Rinforzando Attacks (for more secure and musical beginnings of phrases)
