Kristine Dizon's Achieving Virtuosity is an expanded compilation of Jean-Baptiste Albert's 24 Varied Scales and Exercises along with selected mechanism exercises from Hyancinthe Klosé's Complete Method for the Clarinet that provides extensive fingerings to help clarinetists progressively develop their technique.

This book provides a suggested practice structure of how to approach the clarinet through the use of long tones that also contains fingerings for each of the notes to the high altissimo 'c' that is followed by the mechanism exercises and scale patterns with suggested fingerings. The key signatures start at 0 flats and sharps and moves progressively by the circle of fifths.

Dizon expanded Klose's mechanism scales to make sure that each of the exercises resolve to the tonality. There are five pages of mechanism exercises for each tonality that focuses on a part of the register. In addition, instead of the melodic form of the Albert Scales, they are transposed to the harmonic minor for increased technical facility.
