CORE SKILLS BRASS

Core Skills Brass is a practical, comprehensive and systematic beginners course for treble clef brass instruments which addresses the necessary core skills for the novice to lay the technical and musical foundations required of a brass musician.
The course seeks to fulfil three purposes; firstly, it is a beginner’s primer, secondly, it is a valuable resource for anyone who teaches beginners brass, and thirdly it is intended to be a foundation upon which to prepare students for their first grades with one of the music examination boards.
This efficient, tried and tested teaching resource will be a welcome addition to the professional brass teacher’s library as well as an invaluable practical aid to amateur musicians who find themselves tutoring beginners. Each lesson is presented in a clear, consistent and methodical format with musical exercises tailored to each teaching objective. There are also seven original repertoire pieces included with piano accompaniments providing opportunities for students to demonstrate their progress by performing real music at all stages of the learning process.
