DAILY ROUTINES for Bassoon

Daily Routines provides a systematic way to improve your fundamental bassoon skills. Each of the seven thirty-minute routines is divided into the following skill categories to ensure you practice some of each technique every day: long tones, articulation, half-hole/thumb coordination, scales, arpeggios, and response and intonation across registers. Within each routine, a wide array of ranges, keys, tempos, articulations, and rhythms are employed. Regardless of which routine you play, you can be assured that each of these skill categories is addressed so all your fundamental skills will improve equally over time.
Practising fundamentals is the most important practice session of your day because when your fundamental skills improve, everything you play gets better. Playing one routine a day from Daily Routines will challenge you in unique ways and build a foundation of fundamental skills so you can tackle any musical challenge!
