The highly versatile and acclaimed Jazz Trombonist Mark Bassey was commissioned by Superbrass in 2007 to write a trombone solo feature for Andy Wood accompanied by brass ensemble, something that was not too fast and had a Spanish flavour. He has created here a beautiful slow Bossa Nova with hint of Bolero, vaguely in the tradition of Jobim with undertones of Ravel. It has proved an extremely popular title that Superbrass regularly perform and is a fine vehicle for the solo trombonist to show off a beautiful warm tone and virtuosity.
