DUO

This one movement piece for clarinet and piano aims to stretch the virtuosity of both players. The clarinet lines bubble and glide atop the dream-like piano accompaniment, which creates a wash of harmony underneath the soloist, punctuated with accented notes. The final section should be played with plenty of gusto and forward drive, before disappearing off into the ether. Vahan Salorian (b.1993) is a London based composer and musician who studied composition at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has written multiple operas and theatre works alongside concert music and is also a passionate music educator. His music has been performed around the UK, on the BBC as well as abroad.
