This collection of duets in the 'Frohliche Klarinette' (Happy Clarinet) series contains arrangements and original duets by Rudolf Mauz in a wide variety of musical styles - Classical, Jazz, Blues, Klezmer, Rock and Folk.

They are intended as a first step in ensemble playing and are presented in playing score format with each part having its own stave on the same page. The lower part is for the teacher to play, to support the student on the upper part where the tune is repeated an octave higher in several pieces to introduce the student to higher register playing in ensemble. A useful extra is the provision of chord symbols at concert pitch in the 'non-classical' items so that the clarinet player(s) can be accompanied on guitar or keyboard.

A valuable resource for teaching and for beginner recitals and concerts.
