ESSENTIAL BACH

This book is a collection of all the important Oboe, Oboe d'amore and Cor anglais solos and duets from the major choral works of J.S. Bach, with notes on each piece by the highly respected UK oboe/cor anglais player and teacher Geoffrey Browne (author of The Art of Cor Anglais). 33 different pieces/first and second parts are included from the St Matthew Passion BWV 244, St John Passion BWV 245, Magnificat BWV 243, Mass in B Minor BWV 232, and Christmas Oratorio BWV 248. Conceived as a concert edition, to be used in place of or alongside the poor orchestral parts often presented to players, this will also prove to be a useful resource for teachers, and an essential study book for those oboists learning the baroque choral repertoire. It's also a great way to play these Bach duets for enjoyment with oboe friends.
