FAIRY DANCE and MARCH OF THE TROLLS (score & parts)

The Alfedans (Fairy Dance) and Trolltog (March of the Trolls) are two movements from Grieg's Lyrical Pieces, originally a collection of 66 short piano works which were published in 10 parts between 1867 and 1901. The Fairy Dance is the 4th piece in the first set, Op.12, and probably composed in 1886 or 1887. The March of the Trolls is the 3rd piece in the fifth set, Op.54, and was written in 1889 or 1891. Grieg orchestrated the first 4 pieces in this 5th set and they are known as the Lyric Suite.
