FOUR SCOTTISH DANCES (score & parts)

Sir Malcolm Arnold's entertaining Four Scottish Dances were commissioned by the BBC Light Music Festival in 1957 and were first performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra in that year. The dances are great fun and much loved by professional, amateur and youth orchestras alike. This arrangement for large wind ensemble works for double wind quintet, but can be extended to 13 wind instruments with the addition of 2 more horns and a contrabassoon. In this extended format it matches the scoring of Richard Strauss's Suite in Bb Opus 4 and his Serenade in Eb Opus 7. Woodwindly Music would like to thank the late Sir Malcom Arnold's Estate and its beneficiaries for permission to publish this arrangement of the Four Scottish Dances Opus 59.
