HORNBASICS AND DAILY WARM-UPS

I would like to introduce my personal warm-up program. It includes a wide variety of exercises that I have put together for myself over the years. Some of them have been taken over by my own teachers and professors, some of them I got to know on various master courses or have been inspired by colleagues.
They help me every day anew to deal with the various challenges of playing the horn and to improve or stay fit through regular use and repetition.
With the exercises, I have developed a warm-up and practice system for the typical horn basics, which I can adapt depending on my form of the day and, above all, depending on how much time I have for practicing and rehearsing. The system is divided into seven different blocks, which cover all the important basic parameters of playing the horn.
It is important to me that I deal with all seven parameters every day, because then, even if I have little time to warm up, I feel completely and comprehensively warmed up to go to a rehearsal, a concert or another practice unit. Therefore there are numerous exercises for each group, which I can vary daily and select according to the situation.
I try never to go into extreme positions at the beginning of the warm-up. The muscles must first be warmed up in a relaxed manner, similar to athletes. Only then should we expand the exercises downwards and above all upwards and also penetrate into more extreme volumes. Another motto of mine is - if possible - to always combine two different parameters in one exercise. So I often connect slowly - quickly, tied - pushed, loudly - quietly so that the air flow can adapt to the various challenges.
