LETTER FROM SATURN

"Saturn, known as the planet with the rings, takes its name from a Roman god Saturnus. As my impression od Saturnus and French Horn overlapped, I decided to set up a theme of the piece as a 'letter' from this planet that is over 1.5 billion kilometres away from the earth.
The piece is filled with many of my own images of this planet: glittering and dancing of the 'rings' which are made of cosmic dust and ice, the image of Saturnus as a generous and heroic god, and objective view of this big planet.
The piano part takes several important lines and forming scenes together with the French Horn. I hope you will enjoy contrasts of small phrases, which sometimes cross and then disperse again, as well as contrasts of spontaneous melodies." - Miho Hazama
