NUN HABT IHR TRAURIGKEIT (score & parts)

Completed in 1868, Brahms 'German Requiem' is his largest work and was possibly inspired by the death of his mother in 1865. The text is from the German Luther bible, as opposed to the conventional Latin Catholic service, and was constructed by Brahms himself. This fifth movement (which features a soprano soloist) was the last to be completed, and the soloist and choir sing call-and-response phrases from the sacred text.
