OBOE BIBLIOGRAPHY 1800-1950

Oboe Bibliography 1800-1950 by Sandro Caldini is a new book that is nearly a decade in the making.

The book includes over 6700 entries and has over one hundred of reference pages for the different instrumentation; it includes chamber works from 1 to 10 instruments and solo works up to 5 soloists. The book consists of 615 pages (11 pages with preface and general information, 465 pages of bibliography and 139 pages of instrumentation references)

Every entry has a similar format:
• Name of the Composer and date of the birth and, eventually, of the death
• Title of the work and, eventually, date of composition
• Instrumentation
• Publisher (if exists or existed); otherwise “Ms” means in manuscript
• Music genre
• Manuscript or location of the old edition (many of them out of print)
• Cross references and notes
