This is a book for students who already know their scales and now want to develop their technique to a higher level.
- The first section consists of fingering warm-ups in all major and minor keys, using a variety of patterns.
- In the second section difficult passages from standard repertoire are transposed into all twelve keys.
- The third section deals with intervals and their related tonalities. Exercises are based on orchestral and solo repertoire written after 1900.
- The final section covers other essential technical issues, harmonics, vibrato, tonguing, intonation, alternate fingerings, multiphonics and other extended techniques.
