SERENADE MELANCOLIQUE

Tchaikovsky’s Sérénade Mélancolique is a beautiful showcase of expression and musicality. While the celebrated virtuoso Denis Bouriakov is known for elegant editions and performances of music with dazzling velocity, Tchaikovsky’s poignant serenade is less demanding on the fingers, while highlighting the performer’s artistry. Composed soon after Tchaikovsky’s famous Piano Concerto No. 1, Sérénade Mélancolique includes haunting hints of the concerto’s slow movement. This transcription is appropriate for students through professionals. Hear Bouriakov's own performance at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mtH29itxQk&list=RD4mtH29itxQk&start_radio=1
