Rudolf Mauz's collection is published as part of Schott's "Essential Exercises" series and is subtitled "Basics of Clarinet Technique in 100 Studies". The studies are drawn from the works of fourteen acclaimed performers and/or teachers of the nineteenth century and are arranged in eight sections, each of which is intended to develop a particular technique or group of skills.
