TEN INTERNATIONAL VIOLIN ENCORES

A set of ten original compositions based on musical styles from around the world. First published for cello, these pieces have been adapted for violin by editors Daryl Silberman and Danny Seidenberg and are perfectly suited to concert performance as encores,
small sets, or as a suite. These pieces not only expand violin technique; they are also designed to entertain the audience - and, of course, the violinist!
In this collection I have tried to remain as true as possible to each of the many musical styles that I explore. In doing so, I was inspired to create new techniques and to use traditional techniques in non-traditional ways. The Performance Notes, supplemented by the Performance Key, will be invaluable in assisting the violinist to interpret these new works.
While listening to this suite one cannot help but be impressed by the wonderful musical harmony that exists on our planet. It is with hope that we may soon create an equally wonderful social harmony that I offer these Ten International Violin Encores to the world.
