TERRITOIRES

These three pieces are intended for 3 groups of flautists playing only with the embouchure of their instrument.
TERRITOIRE I
This easy piece is for beginners. It allows playing sounds even before fully mastering the flute. Its main purpose is to help understand the embouchure technique. There is no rhythmic difficulty, but performers must place themselves correctly in time. It is written for 2 or 3 embouchures (the 3 voices are interchangeable) and can be performed by ensembles of 2 or 3 using canon-style entries.
TERRITOIRE II
This piece is for intermediate-level flautists, containing precise rhythms with a tempo choice from 112 to 126. It also requires some constructive effort from the group of performers.
TERRITOIRE III
This piece is written for 2 or 3 advanced flautists, who must solve the sequence of rhythm and playing challenges.
TERRITOIRES
These three pieces are superimposable. They are designed to be playable by ensembles of different skill levels in the same class. For such a performance, it is essential to plan a “path” (which can vary each execution). It is recommended to separate the groups to “spatialize” the piece, giving the title its full meaning. Indeed, the sounds produced in this piece are reminiscent of birdsong.
