Peter Lawrance studied the horn at the Royal Academy of Music and composition with Hugh Wood. He began his career by playing in various orchestras and teaching at colleges and schools in the Midlands, eventually becoming Head of the Instrumental Teaching Service in Manchester. He now divides his composing and arranging time between commissions for bands and orchestras, writing musicals for schools and youth groups and arranging educational material for publication, such as 'Winner Scores All'. This is a collection of 63 unaccompanied popular tunes from the classics, traditional and folk, pop, films, stage musicals and TV with a few Christmas numbers. A piano accompaniment to 41 of them is available separately (ref: BW0331APA).
