XYLÈME (score)

Xylème est une commande de l'Orchestre d'Harmonie Décinoise (Rhône), dédicacée au quatuor de clarinettes Quat'J. La pièce a été créée le 13 mai 2010. Le xylème (du grec « xylon ») désigne le composant du bois. Quoi de plus adapté pour inspirer une composition pour clarinettes ? L’œuvre a ceci de particulier que les trois mouvements qui la composent font appel à trois types d'instrumentation du quatuor des solistes : le premier mouvement pour petite clarinette, deux grandes clarinettes et clarinette basse. Le deuxième mouvement pour quatre clarinettes basses (mais il est possible de remplacer les trois premières parties solistes par des grandes clarinettes) et, enfin, le troisième mouvement pour quatre grandes clarinettes.
