OILEAIN REEL (score & parts)

The Aran Islands (Irish: Oile''in ''rann) are a group of three islands located at the mouth of Galway Bay, on the west coast of Ireland. This lively folk music is arranged is for 7 saxes and optional (but preferable) Bodhran.
Note from the composer: Like all Celtic reels it is harmonically very simple. It is based on major scale harmony modes and swings between tonic and dominant. The idea was to keep every player busy and to increase intensity towards the end. I think most of my pieces are based on both folk and jazz idioms and aim to appeal to both classical and jazz musicians, if there is such a divide.
The scoring is as follows:

Tenor 1
Tenor 2 (or alternative baritone 2)
Baritone 1 (or alternative bass)
optional Bodhran (or Floor Tom)
