About the Composer
Sebastián began studying music at the age of 6 at the Athos Palma choir and orchestra school. He start studying the clarinet at the age of 9 and then piano and bass guitar. He studied clarinet with Eduardo Prado and later with Guillermo Sanchez at the "Manuel de Falla" conservatory of music, where he received the diploma in clarinet performance. He later perfected his formation with Mariano Rey and Carlos Cespedes.
Sebastián specialized on bass clarinet, studying with Davide Pietro Lattuada (Royal Concertgebow Orchestra, Amsterdam), Vincent Penot (Opera Paris Orchestra) and Renate Rusche (Elb Philarmonie, Hamburg). Since 2013, he bass clarinet solist at Orquesta Filarmonica of Buenos Aires, Teatro Colón. He has also participated in masterclasses, international conferences and festivals: FEMUSC (Festival de Música de Santa Catarina, Brazil); masterclasses with Ovanir Buosi (Principal clarinet of the Orquesta del Estado de Sao Paulo) and Cristiano Alves (Principal clarinet of the OSB); Primer Encuentro de Clarinetes de Tucumán; masterclasses with Milan Rericha (Czech Republic); Luis Rossi (Argentina), Donald Montanaro (USA), Valdemar Rodriguez (Venezuela); Jonathan Cohler (USA). He studied composition with Diego Taranto and Fernando Lerman.
Outside the academic music, his interests in other music like the Argentinian folklore, tango, jazz, and film scoring made him become a session musician as a player and composer. His passion with his two principal instruments the bass clarinet and the bass guitar drove him to compose his own music and record it at his own studio. He formed a duo with pianist Anais Crestin that aims at exploring the original repertoire for bass clarinet and piano, in which they record their first cd Bajo Templado. He plays with double bassist Juan Pablo Navarro in his contemporary Tango septet.
