Since graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Graham Sheen has played principal bassoon with the English Chamber Orchestra, the Academy of St Martins-in-the-Fields and latterly, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and he has performed and recorded a number of small ensemble, chamber and solo works. Since 1979 he has been Professor of Bassoon at the Guildhall from where many of his past students hold positions in orchestras around the UK and elsewhere in Europe. Graham Sheen has over twenty arrangements and educational pieces published, several of which are included in examination syllabi.
'The Really Easy Bassoon Book' is made up of six of Graham Sheen's simple compositions and seven of his arrangements of some popular and other less well known classical pieces. They are presented progressively so that students can hear the improvement in their playing while enjoying making music.
