"Berti’s modern studies focus on problems specific to bass clarinet and basset horn, such as the extended low range, right-hand third finger and the register mechanism, reading bass clef, altissimo open fingerings, intonation and sound during sudden dynamic changes, air speed, wide intervals, the left hand A-flat/E-flat key and F/C key, and two specific to the Buffet basset horn with the open right-hand index finger hole.
