I am a mature learner and am largely self-taught. I had hit a plateau in my learning, and found basic technique books very basic and mostly old (think 1940s and 1950s), and more advanced books, just that, too advanced. The Intermediate Trombonist was recommended on a trombone chat group, and it fits the gap I am in perfectly. It’s written in a more modern style with a Plan of Study (graduated programme for advancing technique and playing) which I am happily working through. The improvement is noticeable and my playing rejuvenated.
