I was informed the Boccaccini and Spada edition I originally ordered was no longer available which is a shame (please note this on the website). This Zerboni edition however is very clearly printed and the one which Galway plays (he has written cadenzas for the concerto with Toke Lund Christiansen which can be found on the internet). As I do not have the other version I cannot compare any variations in editing. This concerto though, along with the D Major (my favourite) are two enjoyable works and worthy additions to the flute repertoire.

Actually I bought the Ruth Gipps Oboe Concerto for my pupil Mafalda Murta. I think it’s a wonderful peace, very original and intense, with an interesting orchestration.

Thousands of words have been written about these three pieces. There is nothing I can add. The pieces are wonderful and a real treat to study and play.
This Urtext edition is brilliant. Well laid out, clear and good size to read.

This piece is a tour de force. It really stretches you as an oboist. Not for the faint of heart, but if you dare, the rewards are great.

I am really happy to recommend this edition to all music enthusiasts at both amateur and professional levels. We really appreciate playing famous music in an approachable format. In this instance, we do not have access nor resources to operating as a chamber ensemble yet the format acts as one.

Really enjoying playing these on tenor sax. Classic numbers Well written for the instrument, some have small sections to try improv solo. Would love a drumbeat or further band members on the accompanying backing track.

Well, it has a list of ABRSM scales and arpeggios for grades 1-5. It does tell you what will be asked, how many octaves and such, but not much different than just having a list if you know theory (and by the they should know it). I play violin so i got this for my son’s bassoon class because i know nothing of wind instruments.

I play the bassoon and bought these to play with my 9 year old grandson who is learning the bassoon.They arrived very promptly (as usual with Emerson's) and he loved them. Very easy but effective.

We were running short on repertoire for a Christmas concert and this fits the bill perfectly. Sounds a bit showy and should go down very well with an audience - and fun to play. About 15 minutes long

The work is Trio for clarinet, sax. and piano by Leon Stein. We were over the moon to find June Emerson has it in stock when we couldn't find it anywhere else! The score comes with separate parts; clarinet and sax. are written in concert pitch in the piano part, which is reader-friendly for the pianist. Reading the manuscript score takes some getting used to for us. Nonetheless, it has been fun learning the work.

The only other edition of the Carlo Yvon Cor Anglais Sonata I’ve seen doesn’t have the cor part on the piano part, which is a bit of a nightmare! This new (to me) edition is excellent with both parts clearly printed. As usual, June Emerson delivered very promptly - much appreciated. Thank you!

A classic of tenor trombone repertoire. The second movement is an ABRSM grade 8 piece, the rest slightly beyond grade 8. Plenty of excellent recordings out there, including Christian Lindberg.

Good to play and not too difficult once we got the hang of the Latin rhythms.
But there are crochet rests missing in bar 245 (clarinet part), 249 (oboe), 250 (flute), 251 (bassoon) and 252 (all parts apart from clarinet) and these errors are also in the score.

Loved that Rod Elms invited me to perform this Joyful piece on the violin with his wonderful wife Joanna at the piano for a Christmas Concert at Budworth Hall Ongar 2023 for which he was conducting/accompanying the RMS Veterans Choir. Will be definitely be using this in my repertoire for future Christmas performances.
