I bought this to unite the piano part of Pamela Harrison's Drifting Away with the clarinet part published in the latest Clarinet and Saxophone magazine. One of the other three pieces is by James Walker and the remaining two are arrangements of well known material. I'd have preferred a stand alone publication or a compilation of Harrison's works. Brymer's comments are helpful but I' not sure about 'moderate' as there are two and three bare passages of high notes played softly. I gather that Jack Brymer himself played the piece at Pamela Harrison's funeral.

I was delighted to find that you publish this tutor, which in my opinion is the best clarinet tutor on the market. I have a very old, well used copy but for my new young pupil it’s so much better to have a lovely new edition to play from.

This book is excellent. It emphasises the most important aspects of playing and producing a consistently good tone and principles of how to practice. I found it different from most scale books and therefore not boring .

Lovely arrangement, particularly the first (Bebop Bach). The second (Cool Bach) needs a piccolo, and the third (Dixie) seems a different arrangement to the traditional CB performances (much of the trumpet 1 part would probably sound better up an octave). But all great fun.

This is a lovely flute concerto, and I was able to find the sheet music only at June Emerson. There's an outstanding recording, along with other Telemann flute concertos, by Emmanuel Pahud and Berliner Barock Solisten. This urtext edition is a high quality production all around, including scholarly notes. In addition to full score, included parts are: Flute/Oboe, Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cembalo. The service from June Emerson was great. I was kept abreast via email of shipping status throughout, including a slight 1-week initial delay (correctly predicted) due to depleted stock. Very pleased with the product and service.

When I first heard Donizetti Concertino for Clarinet I was instantly struck by the beauty of the opening slow movement. The Allegretto falls nicely under the fingers and is fun to play.

A bassoon playing friend recommended this when I said I'd like something a bit jazzy and different from solid classical fayre. It's fabulous. A little cheesy, but nothing wrong with that, and it reminds me of the Jazz Club on the Fast Show: nice.

I'm not a teacher, but I think these could be useful exercises for helping intermediate players develop their technique and accurate reading skills. They're not particularly virtuosic, but the aim should be to play them accurately and musically. They could also be useful for more advanced players to exercise their basic skills.

As a flute player, I've very much enjoyed rehearsing the flute part, which has plenty to enjoy, especially in the first movement. I confess that I haven't actually played it as sextet yet (getting players together). Having two cellos will be nice, with one part much easier than the other, Nice solo for viola in 1st movement. The latter movements don't look quite so musically strong as the first, as they seem quite simplistic in design, but as an amateur I may soon eat my words.

Mein Sohn, 14 Jahre, spielt die White Rock Sonate sehr gern auf dem Fagott und wird die ersten beiden Sätze in seinem nächsten Wettbewerbsprogramm spielen.
