There's nothing to write about the piece itself! The arrangement is great - a chance to show off on the soprano cornet / Eb trumpet (goes to top Bb) with a wonderful tune.

If I, as author of the title I ordered, were to write my thoughts it would be rightly seen as self-aggrandizing. Suffice to say that I am continually pleased with the immediate response and very fast delivery of my orders.

This piece has 5 short contrasting movements, so it offers a nice variety of characters and tempi, and keeps the listener very engaged throughout. It features solo moments for all 3 instruments so everyone gets a chance to shine. There are several challenges with changing metres and fast technical passages. As an ensemble we found this really enjoyable to work on together.

Lots ands lots of wonderful scale, arpeggio and flexibility exercises in one book.

What a delightful and colourful array of pieces composed specifically for solo bassoon. A deserved prize winner. Am enjoying learning these very much.

A great addition to the solo bassoon repertoire and a welcome change to the more classic studies. Not for the faint-hearted....still have a lot more work to do to get them under my fingers.

The clarinet equivalent of rushing outside and beating yourself with birch twigs. Crikey, these are tough on the diaphragm, embouchure and fingers, being originally written for the violin. Not for the faint hearted.

A really interesting piece (duet) for advanced players to explore and parts are available in for various combinations of instruments - make sure that you read the footnotes and have the correct version (A or B) for your instruments and enjoy the challenge!

The music is five stars and I recommend looking up the original orchestral suites and listening to Malcolm Arnold's mastery of orchestration as this will help you to understand the sound world. However, there are a number of editing errors and inconsistencies (especially in the first dance) which is disappointing and I urge the publishers to correct these and/or issue an errata sheet to accompany the present edition as soon as possible.

This CD was required for grade 5 jazz exam for backing tracks. There was a delay which June Emerson communicated to me immediately and advised a week or more. As it wasn’t urgently needed I was quite happy but the CD arrived just three days later which was great and meant I could get on with my work sooner than expected! The CD itself is fine and as usual the service from June Emerson is outstanding.

Advanced players will enjoy the challenge of bringing out the characters of the titles - Tittle-Tattle, Memories and Conflict.

The music is lovely and the transcriptions of these pieces work well. The clarinet part goes up to top F (Salut d'Amour) and top E (Chanson de Matin). Lots of opportunity to work at articulation, phrasing and tempo changes so plenty of challenge for intermediate players.

A great, fun piece enabling the clarinet choir to experience klezmer music and the techniques involved in playing that style.

Not too difficult for advanced players but still with a few challenges! The musical styles are familiar and accessible. My duet partner and I enjoy playing these.

This is a beautifully tender and lyrical piece of music by a composer now gaining much deserved recognition. It works wonderfully on the bass clarinet and much of it is written in the upper and even altissimo registers, both areas of the instrument that all players need to work on to produce a warm and even tone. There are some passages that extend into the fruity low notes too, with ossias if you have a low C bass.
'Prelude' is not technically difficult but requires a great deal of breath control, control of legato, phrasing and variety of tone. As a bass clarinet player in a UK symphony orchestra, and a teacher in a conservatoire, I would recommend this piece for any player wishing to develop these aspects of their bass clarinet playing. It would work well on the Bb clarinet too for the same reason (but I think it should really be played on the bass...!) At just 5 minutes long it would fit into most recital programmes as a lovely lyrical interlude, or even an opener. There is a very good performance of it by Mark O'Brien of the CBSO available on YouTube.

Great quality, just a shame some page turns are awful but I supposed it’s performed best by memory so it’s only an issue for when practicing
